Sex Doll Warranties and Returns: What's Covered and What Isn't

Published 2 min read

A sex doll is one of the few big purchases you usually can’t return once it’s opened. That makes the warranty — and how you handle the first day — far more important than with most products.

What warranties usually cover

Covered Not covered
Skeleton or joint failure from a defect Tears from over-bending or rough handling
Damage visible on arrival Dye transfer from clothing
Wrong options shipped Normal wear, oil bleed, fading
Missing parts or accessories Heat or solvent damage

The first-day inspection

  1. Photograph the sealed box from all sides.
  2. Open it carefully — never use a knife near the doll.
  3. Check every joint, finger and toe, the neck bolt, and the skin for tears.
  4. Compare options against your order and factory photos.
  5. Report problems in writing with photos the same day.

How to make a claim

  1. Contact the store first, not the courier. The store is the one that can send a replacement part or refund you.
  2. Send evidence: photos or a short video of the box, the damage and the label. Claims without evidence are usually refused.
  3. Keep everything in writing, and keep the original packaging until the claim is settled.
  4. If the store stops responding, open a dispute with your card issuer, PayPal or the payment-plan provider within their deadline.
  5. If the store agrees to a return, it will usually tell you which courier to use and who pays postage.

Most stores only refund for dolls that arrive damaged or defective, not for a change of mind after opening. Custom dolls typically take two to five weeks to build and ship, so allow for that before chasing an order.

Orders placed through AliExpress

Open the order under My Orders and use Contact now to message the seller, attaching photos. If that doesn’t resolve it, choose Open dispute, describe the problem and the outcome you want, and upload your evidence. If the seller still won’t settle, select Escalate dispute so AliExpress reviews the case.

Returns of unused dolls

If you change your mind before opening, some stores accept a return minus shipping and restocking fees. Custom dolls are almost never returnable because they are built to order.

Make the warranty last

Most warranty disputes come from damage the owner caused without realising — over-rotating a wrist, storing a doll lying on a hard surface, or dressing it in dark denim. Our care guide and posing guide help you avoid that.

Frequently asked questions

Can I return a sex doll if I don't like it?

Usually only if it is unopened, and you may pay return shipping and a restocking fee. Opened or used dolls generally cannot be returned.

What should I do if my doll arrives damaged?

Photograph the box and the damage before moving anything, then contact the store within its claim window, often 48–72 hours. Keep all packaging.

Do factory warranties cover the skeleton?

Many factories warranty the skeleton for longer than the skin, sometimes up to a year, because joint failures are usually defects rather than wear.
