Sex Doll Heads: Swapping, Compatibility and Neck Bolts

Published 2 min read

Swapping heads is one of the best ways to refresh a doll — and much cheaper than buying a new one.

How heads attach

Most heads screw onto a threaded neck bolt that rises from the skeleton. Some factories use an M16 bolt and others smaller bolts. Many dealers list a neck size or bolt type with each head.

Compatibility checklist

Check Why it matters
Same factory Highest chance of correct fit and skin match
Neck diameter Avoids gaps or a squeezed neck
Bolt type Determines whether the head screws on at all
Skin tone code Factories number their tones; match the codes
Head height Keeps proportions believable

Swapping safely

  1. Lay the doll face-up on a soft surface.
  2. Tilt the head back slightly and unscrew anticlockwise — support the head with both hands.
  3. Fit the new head straight; don’t cross-thread.
  4. Stop when snug; over-tightening tears the neck.

Where to buy extra heads

Authorized dealers sell individual heads from the same factories as their bodies. A spare head is the cheapest way to give your doll a completely new look, and you can switch back whenever you like. Stores we have bought heads from:

  • Sexy Real Sex Dolls sells TPE and silicone heads. Its silicone heads fit silicone bodies from about 135 cm tall; its TPE heads fit OR Doll, WM Doll and YL Doll bodies of the same height, and it has TPE heads for CLM and JY bodies too. Spare wigs and eyes are also available.
  • Sexy Sex Doll lets you filter heads by brand (WM, YL, Irontech, SSD, 6YE and more). WM heads have often come with extras such as two wigs, lipstick, glue and a set of eyes.
  • Joy Love Dolls carries more than 50 heads, mostly from WM Doll.
  • SexDolls.com has several pages of WM heads alone, plus other brands.
  • Sex Doll Genie has listed close to 100 male and female heads, mainly WM and AF Doll with some 6YE and JY, and lets you customize skin tone, hair and eye colour to match your doll.

Whichever store you use, confirm the neck size and skin tone match your body before you order. Our brands guide explains which factories make what.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put a silicone head on a TPE body?

Often, yes — that's what a hybrid doll is. Match the factory's neck size and ask your dealer to confirm compatibility.

Do heads from different brands fit?

Some do with an adapter, but neck diameters, bolt types and skin tones vary. Same-brand swaps are far more reliable.

How do I store spare heads?

Upright on a stand or wig head, away from sunlight, with nothing pressing the face. Cover silicone heads loosely to keep dust off.
